Every momma wants to make the best choices for the little one’s, including baby food. As a mom myself, I found it hard to determine the best blender but I researched and looked at every feature to decide which option would be best for our family.
Best Blender for Baby Food
The Babymoov Duo Food Processor is a multi functional machine that is a steamer and blender, a sterilizer for bottles, breast pumps, pacifiers, and defroster for frozen breast milk or baby food; whereas the NUK Baby Food Maker is simply a blender with no cooking options.
Grownsy Baby Food Maker
The Grownsy Baby Food Maker can blend, steam, sterilize, and warm milk. It can even handle meat.
Not only does the device provide excellent blending capabilities, but it also includes an easy-to-use touch button screen. Honestly, you could even use this for adult foods too.
Simply put the ingredient in the batch bowl and push the buttons you need. It’s easy to clean too and use with up to 400ml for more food at once.
This is going to be my new go-to baby shower gift! It’s cute, useful and any new parent would love this handy product.
Pros:
- Easy to use
- Constant 24 Hour temperature
- Simple button operation
- Powerful motor
Cons:
- Doesn’t include storage containers
- Some complaints about the rubber under the blade deteriorating
- Not all parts are dishwasher safe
Evla’s Baby Food Maker
If you want the function of an all-in-one baby food maker to help save a little time, the Evla’s Baby Food Maker is your top choice. This cool product offers everything you need to make preparing homemade baby food a breeze. The Evla’s steams and blends fruits, vegetables, meats, and fish.
The simple operation only requires you to fill up the water reservoir, then chop and place the ingredients in the steamer basket. Set the digital touch display to the desired setting, steam, and use the food processor/blender. You’ll have a meal in around 15 minutes.
The usefulness doesn’t stop there. This baby food maker also works as a blender, food processor, and grinder. It even comes with helpful accessories like reusable food pouches and a spill-proof lid.
Pros:
- Multiple functions include: steaming, blends, grinds
- Cute and compact design
- Easy to clean
- Three color options
- Fast and simple to use
Cons:
- May have a strong plastic smell

Nuby Mighty Blender
The Nuby Mighty Blender is very similar to the Magic Baby Bullet. The main difference is in the reliability. Plus, I own other Magic Bullets products and have had zero negative issues.
Like the Magic Baby Bullet, the Nuby Mighty Blender does not include a steamer. This product is designed for blending fruits, vegetables, and grains. It also includes all the accessories you need, like a storage bowl selection, to freeze and store your homemade baby foods.
The Nuby Mighty Blender is cute and functional. If you need only to blend and store food for your child, this is one option. However, since the prices ranges are similar, I would choose the Magic Baby Bullet over this product.
Pros:
- 22-Piece set includes all you need to blend and store baby food
- Cute design
- Includes 2 blades for blending and milling
Cons:
- May not be reliable
- Does not include cooking function
- Most parts are not dishwasher safe
BEABA Babycook 4 in 1 Steam Cooker and Blender
I wanted to love the BEABA Babycook 4 in 1 Steamer and Blender, but I don’t think it is the finest blender available. While it offers the option to easily cook and puree baby food, it doesn’t have as many functions as the zanmini Baby Food Maker.
This product doesn’t include the bottle warmer or the sterilizer. However, it does come in three color options unlike many of the other baby food makers on the market. If you like the BEABA Babycook and want more capacity, the Babycook Plus offers twice the baby food making space with two steaming compartments.
The downside with the BEABA Babycook Steamer is the risk of mold growth in the water reservoir, which is not easy to clean. You can have more functions at a lower price point with the zanmini model.
Pros:
- All-in-one steamer and blender
- 3 color options
- Available in Babycook Plus for more cooking space
Cons:
- Risk of mold growth in water reservoir
- Learning curve to use
- Hard to clean
NUK Smoothie and Baby Food Maker
Like the Magic Baby Bullet, the NUK Baby Food Maker is a blender only with no cooking option. It also offers one twist operation and includes storage bowls.
That’s where the similarities end. The NUK Baby Food Maker offers inferior quality and reliability when compared to either the Magic Bullet or Nuby Mighty Blender. While the NUK could work for smoothies, I’d recommend purchasing the Baby Bullet instead.
In fact, the included containers aren’t as good for quality or usefulness as the other two comparative products. The price range for all three options is close, so don’t waste your money on the NUK.
Pros:
- Simple operation
- Easy to clean
- Batch bowl has a pour spout
Cons:
- May not be reliable
- May leak
Elechomes Baby Food Maker
The Elechomes Baby Food Maker is very similar to the zanmini baby food maker. The two products have almost identical functions.
The main difference is the Elechomes doesn’t have a digital operation panel. Instead, it has a button and turn knob. Also, the Elechomes come in a light blue color that I don’t prefer.
The Elechomes Baby Food Maker is reliable and offers all-in-one functionality. This includes steaming food, pureeing, warming milk, and sterilizing. It is also easy to clean and operate.
Pros:
- Reliable food processor
- All-in-one steaming and blending saves time
- Easy to clean
Cons:
- No color options other than light blue
- Not digital
Sweety Fox – All in one Baby Food Maker Steamer and Blender
The only baby food system you’ll need is the Sweety Fox Baby Food Maker Steamer and Blender Compact. Steam, thaw, reheat, disinfect, mix, and auto-clean are all options for making homemade puree for your baby. The appliance comes with six pre-programmed options. Prepare your fresh fruit or other ingredients, select a function, and leave the rest to the baby food maker machine – it will notify you when the program is finished!
However, I found the Sweety Fox Baby Food Maker disappointing when compared to other steam and blend baby food maker brands. Several customers found the food maker broke after a few months even though the vast majority did not have this problem.
Also, several people said the steamer function did not work properly.
Pros:
- All-in-one functions include steam and puree, plus bottle warming
- Blade lock technology
- Looks great with simple colors and compact design
Cons:
- The water chamber must be descaled
- Hard to clean
- May have reliability issues
Babymoov Dual Meal Station Baby Food Maker
I love the idea of a product that works now for baby food, but will also work later for making other meals in the kitchen. The Babymoov Dual Meal Station Baby Food Maker has 2 steaming baskets and a 3 speed, 11 cup blender. It ideal for making baby food, but it can also work well for soups, smoothies, and lots of other meals.
The 11 cup capacity in the blender means that you can make one big batch with some to feed your kiddo now and some to store in the freezer for later.
Because most baby blenders have caught on to the fact that parents are busy and pressed for time, you can now cook and puree your baby food all in one machine. And this does that so well! I like that the 2 steamer baskets can be used together or separately. I also like that you can use the blender or the steamer or both. Steam some broccoli for the toddler and puree it with the cooking juices for the baby. Poof! That’s dinner done.
And as if that weren’t enough, you can also use the Babymoov to sterilize bottles, breast pumps, or pacifiers. You can also thaw out frozen foods or breastmilk.
Pros:
- Steam and blend in one machine
- Holds up to 11 cups of food
- 2 steamer baskets can be used for 2 separate foods
- Sterilize bottle and breast pump parts
Cons:
- The max 30 min steam time might not be long enough for hard foods like sweet potatoes
- The blender works well for soft, cooked food, but not for tougher foods
- Doesn’t hold up particularly well to heavy (aka multiple times daily) use
Accessories for Making and Storing Baby Food
I loved making purees for my children. It was rewarding to know they were eating non-processed and nutritious meals. Plus, I saved money.
While several of the baby food makers listed include cookbooks and storage containers, I have a few more options to include in your baby food-making supplies.
Cookbooks for Baby Food
Baby Food Cookbooks
I made baby food by steaming the ingredients on the stove top in a simple silicon steamer basket and then transferred it to my regular blender. I then froze the food in traditional ice cube trays and stored it in zip-top bags. I learned this method from the amazing book Super Baby Food.
I also recommend the Big Book of Organic Baby Food and Deceptively Delicious. Once you learn the method that works best for you, you’ll be able to sneak healthy food into your children’s diets for years to come.
Storage for Baby Food
Baby Food Storage Solutions
I found it easier to batch baby food than to steam and cook as I prepared meals for the rest of the family. This is why I like the Magic Bullet over the all-in-one cook and blend options.
When batching, you’ll need plenty of containers. The Mumi & Bubi Solids Starter Kit is a great option for freezing baby food. I also like the NUK Homemade Baby Food Flexible Freezer Tray.
With the popularity of squeezable pouches, the Kiinde Foodii Starter Kit offers reusable and refillable baby food pouches. I think for simple storage after freezing, any BPA-free small container works.

FAQs – Best Blenders for Baby Foods
How do I pick a baby food maker?
First, decide if you want a blender-only baby food maker option or an all-in-one steamer. Then, choose the best product in that category. Look for reliability and ease of use. Avoid the frustration of a product that leaks easily or is difficult to clean or operate. Also choose one that eases your stress and not adds to it by picking a quality machine without a million complicated parts.
Should I go the hand-made food or just purchase store bought food?
Choosing what is best for your family is always best. But hand-made baby food is an excellent option for your infant. It’s healthier, saves time and money, and allows you to control what’s in your baby’s food. Plus, as a parent you want to establish a solid base of health for their mind, body and soul right from the start.
What size blender should I purchase?
It depends on both space and need. If you have storage room and want to make large amounts of baby food at once, then getting a larger option is wise. However, if you have limited space or only want to make enough baby food for a meal or two, then you can pick a smaller blender. As always, determine what is best for you and your family. And what will fit in your kitchen or storage area.
