The are an excellent choice of Huggies Snug & Dry Baby Diapersapers for parents who want a value option from a trusted diaper brand. With three children, I’ve changed more than my share of diapers. I started off with my first child using premium diapers, but eventually decided that the cost savings were worth looking at a more budget-friendly option.
While the cost savings aren’t huge (about seven cents a diaper between the Snug & Dry and Huggies Little Movers), it does add up over time. If you want a diaper that performs well and saves you money, HUGGIES Snug & Dry Diapers are a great option.
Features:
Multiple layers of protection
Diapers have one basic job: catch your child’s potty business without letting anything leak. Huggies are designed to do this job well. The Snug and Dry has four layers of leak protection that pull moisture away from your child, keeping your child comfortable and feeling dry. The blue quilted inner layer is soft and touchable, enhancing your child’s comfort. I like that the multiple layers store moisture but still leave the child feeling dry, preventing diaper rash and other discomforts.
Leak Proof
Few things are more frustrating than dealing with blowouts from a messy diaper. Huggies Snug & Dry diapers are designed to keep the mess where it belongs, inside the diaper. The elastic around the legs has a snug fit, and the stretchable material is designed to fit closely around your child’s waist so that nothing leaks out the top of the diaper.
Wetness Indicator
This is one of my favorite features. A yellow stripe on the front of the diaper turns blue when wet. It’s nice to have the visual cue to let you know when your child is wet, especially in the newborn stage when you can’t always tell easily if your child is wet just by looking at the diaper. The indicator strip makes it easy to do a quick check before leaving the house or buckling your child into the car seat, helping you ensure your child is dry and comfortable.
Size and fit
The Huggies Snug & Dry fits children from birth up to size 6. The wide range of sizes helps you find the right diaper for your child. A good diaper fit depends on your child’s body type, long and skinny babies may need a different style diaper than a child with a round belly and chubby thighs. Regardless, the wide range of sizes available for the Snug & Dry should help you find a diaper that fits your child well. Newborn diapers are designed with an umbilical cord cutout, helping protect your little one’s sensitive skin. And the Mickey designs are cute–a nice bonus.
What’s the Difference?
Huggies considers the Snug & Dry their value brand, and Snug & Dry diapers are less expensive than the Snugglers or Little Movers. However, these cost savings does come at the expense of some features.
A few parents have complained about the plastic feel and smell of Snug & Dry diapers and say that compared to Pampers, Huggies has a more artificial or even scratchy feel. If this concerns you, you may want to look at the Huggies Snugglers, which have a breathable outer cover.
The Huggies Snug & Dry also appears to have a less expensive close than the Little Movers. Little Movers have double grip strips, while the Snug & Dry appear to be more of an adhesive type. Still, the Snug & Dry appears to fit securely and should keep any but the most determined escape artist from removing his or her diaper.
The Snug & Dry is designed with elastic around the legs and has a little stretch built in to help fit your child snugly and prevent leaks. This seems sufficient if your child is in a properly sized diaper, but other Huggies diapers do have additional leak-preventing features like a contoured shape or pocket waistband. I tend to prioritize value in a diaper and haven’t missed having these premium features on my children’s diapers, but parents will have to decide what is best for them and for their children.

What do other parents say?
Diapers are such an individual choice. So much depends on your personal preferences and on how they fit your individual child’s body. With any diaper out there you’ll find some people who love it and some who hate it. The same is true of the Huggies Snug & Dry. The Snug & Dry is a widely-used and well-liked diaper, although a few parents have complained about not liking the diaper as much after the 2017 redesign.

As you can see from the review summary, many parents use Huggies Snug & Dry and most of those who use it are very well pleased with the product. As with any diaper, though, some parents did have concerns:
- A few parents have reported that their child develops rashes in Huggies. In my experience, parents sometimes blame the diaper for the a diaper rash when the real culprit is something in the child’s diet, a yeast infection, a reaction to a brand of soap or baby oil, or just irritation for being in the diaper too long. Here’s how you can tell if a rash is actually a diaper allergy. If your child does have sensitive skin, I would definitely recommend sticking with a name brand diaper like Huggies or Pampers.
- A few parents also complained about the diapers having a strong chemical smell.
- Other parents noted problems with the diapers bursting when left on overnight. From my experience, a bursting diaper is usually a sign you need to go up a size in diapers and not a flaw in the diaper itself, and I think you’ll find similar complaints about most diapers on the market. Diapers that are too small for your child can overfill and leak or even burst, but that’s not necessarily a problem with the diaper design. It most likely just means that your child has outgrown the diaper.
I think it’s also important to note that Huggies provides great customer service to parents who report problems with their diapers. If you scan reviews, you’ll notice that Huggies is very proactive about responding to reviews and asking parents who report issues with the diapers to contact them. I’ve seen a few people note that they raised an initial low rating because of their experience with Huggies customer service. That’s a sign of a company that stands behind their product, something to consider when purchasing any baby product. I feel comfortable purchasing Huggies products because I know the brand will make it right with me if I experience issues with their products.
Cost
To me, this is where the Huggies Snug & Dry really shines. Huggies Snug & Dry is comparable in price to Luvs but appears to be a better quality and better-designed diaper. There is a noticeable difference in quality between the Snug & Dry and premium diapers, but that difference in quality comes at a cost difference that adds up over time. When you’re going through thirty or forty diapers a week, sixty for a newborn, that seven to ten cents a diaper starts looking like real money pretty quick. For me, having a value diaper from a brand I trust is a win-win.
Conclusion
When you consider price and quality, the HUGGIES Snug & Dry Diapers is one of the best diaper values on the market. Some parents may prefer the look and feel of premium diapers and consider them worth the cost. But if you’re looking for a quality diaper that also saves money, the Snug & Dry is a great option. I’d recommend it to parents who value both performance and price.
