The Sperry Kid Saltwater Rain Boots are the most “adult” looking of the lot. 

These Sperry duck boots are exceptionally well made and stylish. They have rubber lowers and sole and synthetic leather uppers.

They lace up for a tight fit and have a side zipper for easy on and off. Smaller toddlers with little feet won’t have any problems with the zipper as long as their leg is upright when they are putting them on.

The saltwater boots are comfortable enough to wear all day. They are priced higher than most on our list, but should last longer as well.

There is an interesting grip pattern on the bottom of these toddler duck boots that is intended to make them perform well in both wet and dry conditions.

Although the manufacturer says these books will work in rain and snow, they probably aren’t best for all-day snow use. They are insulated and should stay warm in the winter, but maybe not all day in the snow.

Oakiwear boots are lightweight plus if your child doesn’t like the feel of heavy rain rubber boots on his feet. They sport a cotton interior for warmth and comfort and are easy to clean just wash the boots off and dry overnight.

The boots are waterproof and made of natural rubber. The rubber is PVC free and doesn’t have the strong chemical smell some rain boots are known for.

The flat sole and low heel will keep your child from slipping, and the handles make it easy for her to pull on herself.

We’ve owned several pairs of these ourselves. They do run big, and some parents find they need to size down. They also aren’t made to last a lifetime. I found that they lasted the season, but by the time we rounded the corner into the end of spring it wasn’t unusual to find that one of the pull-on loops had broken off or that there was a crack starting in one of the boots.

There is no place for water to get in this high, synthetic rubber boot. It looks and feels sturdy. Because the rubber is PVC and not natural, it is more susceptible to splitting or developing cracks. However, the majority of users vouch for the boot’s quality in the tradition of other Kamik outdoor wear.

The non-slip rubber sole has the pattern and grip of something you would normally see on an adult boot.

There are no handles. Instead, there is a small eyelet at the top back of the boot that you could put a string through or a specially made strap with a metal clip made to slide through the hole. The rubber boots don’t come with a strap.

The inside of the boot has a wicking material to keep sweat and moisture off foot and sock.

The Mini Melissa Sugar Rain Bow boots are not the most practical rain boot in the world, but I’m including them on this list of best toddler rain boots because they are super adorable. The glittery bow will please your budding fashionista, and the waterproof material will keep her feet dry on dressy occasions.

They have a flexible sole and are made from synthetic materials. Drawbacks are that the shaft is shortonly ankle highand these boots do not have the type of thick, nonskid sole I like to see in a rain boot.

These adorable toddler galoshes are not made for deep puddle jumping or wilderness hikes, but if you want a rain boot suitable for dressier occasions these are the boots for you.

They come in black, gold glitter, and sand color options, and are sure to please your little princess-in-training.

Western Chief rain boots are made from 100% natural rubber and are designed with pull-on handles and nonskid traction. They are lined, and the cushioned footbed enhances comfort so your child can spend more time puddle stomping and rain dashing. The inside lining can take time to dry, but taking out the removable footbed to dry separately can speed things up.

These boots also get points for durability. Many parents say that while the designs fade with use, the rubber boots remained in good enough shape to pass down to siblings.

Character boots (like Thomas or Tinkerbell), seem to have more durability issues than other styles, so keep that in mind if you want an option that can be handed down after your child outgrows them. Let’s just face it – sometimes our children’s feet stink, especially when they get wet. That’s why one of my favorite features of the Bogs’ Kids Skipper Waterproof Rain Boots is their DuraFresh biotechnology that fights unwanted odors.

Outdoor Master is a lesser known brand that has some made some great Rain Boots for Toddlers. These boots are very well reviewed and worthy to be on our best rain boot list.

The one-piece construction of these boots integrates the handles into the body of the boot. This makes them very easy to pull on and unlikely to ever separate or tear.

The Outdoor Master logo on the base of the heal of the boot, visible from the back, is reflective for night visibility. I love this safety feature not found in many other boots.

The boots are made of EVA which is a safe and sturdy material. For reference, Crocs are also made from a derivative of EVA named croslite.

The boots are quite lightweight and also fairly thick. 

The insole is not a separate piece but built into the boot. It is soft and perforated.

These boots are comfortable for extended usage. They have a deep grooved sole for traction in the mud and on slippery sidewalks.

Overall the Outdoor Master rain boots are a quality choice for a very reasonable price. Highly recommended as long as you aren’t looking for something with a lining or extra insulation.
