While the Chicco Mini Bravo Stroller is no longer available, Chicco did update this stroller by creating the Chicco Mini Bravo Plus Stroller. While the original Mini Bravo was lightweight at 18 lbs, the Mini Bravo Plus is even lighter at 12 lbs. Other improvements include the canopy is now vented and extendable, there is a detachable child tray, it has a zippered parent pouch by the handle, and it is able to fit a Chicco car seat with a secure click-in attachment. It fits children up to 50 lbs . Some similarities are that it is still easy to fold with the one-handed quick fold, the seat reclines in 3 different positions, and it has swivel wheels for easy maneuverability. You can actually also purchase this same stroller as a travel system, which also includes a Chicco infant car seat.
What fun features are found on this lightweight update of the beloved Bravo?

Chicco wanted to take a good thing and make it great, so they created the brand-new Mini Bravo Lightweight stroller. And it certainly is fantastic. It takes the features of the original Bravo stroller and streamlines them. The result is a light, easy-to-use, and practical stroller that you’re sure to love.
Lightweight Design
The Mini Bravo is quite slimmed down, losing 5 pounds from the original design without losing too much functionality.
Small, But Mighty
So the Bravo stroller isn’t too heavy to begin with, weighing in at only 23 pounds. But the Mini Bravo has really outdone itself. It weighs in at just 18 pounds. This makes a big difference when you are carrying it around. And another difference is that the reduced weight means that it’s
more compact. It’s a few inches shorter and a few inches skinnier than it’s big brother Bravo.
The fold is a lot more compact too, losing a couple of inches on each side once folded. The folded dimensions are roughly 46 inches tall, 10 inches wide, and 12 inches deep. That’s pretty small, considering that it’s not an umbrella stroller.
Despite the reduction in size, the stroller hasn’t lost any of its strength. The steel frame can still support a child from just 5 pounds all the way up to 50 pounds, which equals a very long lifespan for this product.

Fold, Stand, Open, Repeat.
The entire point of a lightweight stroller is that it should be easy to fold up and carry around. After all, if it’s bulky and heavy and hard to lug around, you may as well buy a regular stroller!
The innovative folding design of the Bravo lives on in the Mini Bravo, with the quick fold feature still going strong. All you need do to fold the stroller is grab the handle located under the seat. Pull it up, and the stroller folds in on itself. It’s then a small, lightweight, and very portable package.
But that’s not all! The stroller is self-standing when folded to make life easier on a mom with constantly occupied hands. To top it all off, the folding handle doubles as a fantastic carrying handle.
This folding mechanism can’t be beat. It’s easy to do with one hand. It’s easy to carry and will fit in most small trunks. You’ll have no problem taking this thing around town and opening and closing it.
Sweet Suspension
One of the great features that Chicco has is spring suspension for an amazingly smooth ride. And yup, the Mini Bravo has got it!
Good Wheels for a Good Ride
The size of the wheels on the baby Bravo are really good, considering that it’s a lightweight stroller. The front wheel is 6 ¾ inches, and the back wheel is 8 inches. These large-ish wheels mean that little bumps in the road won’t seem so big. And although they are plastic, they have a really sturdy design that will hold up for a long time.
Suspension, Swivel, and Brake
So Chicco doesn’t expressly say anywhere that this stroller has all-wheel suspension. But since it has such a smooth ride, I’m going to assume that it does, in fact, have the all-wheel suspension just like the big Bravo. The suspension is springy, in the least.
It also has front swivel wheels that make steering this thing a breeze. Turning is easy and it’s no problem to maneuver this stroller however you need to. Wheels that can’t be locked sometimes like to get stuck in odd positions. I haven’t seen this problem yet, but I’m sure it will happen now and again with the Mini Bravo.
The stroller features toe tap rear brakes. These work by braking each side individually. Now I can’t say that it’s my favorite way to stop the stroller, since I prefer linked braking. If you want to really stop the stroller, you have to push down hard on both back brakes. Popping the brakes up to get going again is no easy feat, especially if you are wearing sandals. But I could see why they’d do these brakes as a way to save weight and space on this downsized stroller.

Chicco never forgets the comfort and practical needs of their customers. Just look at the fun features that they fit into their new lightweight design.
Happy Baby
Babies don’t know much, but they do know when they are comfy and when they aren’t. So Chicco integrated a few comfort features for the kiddos in the Mini Bravo. The first feature is the comfy seat, which can recline to 3 different levels. Added bonus: it’s easy for parents to adjust with only one hand!
The 5 point safety harness is padded to help protect your baby from irritation. We’ve all experienced the awful feeling of a seat belt digging into your skin. If you don’t tolerate it, why should baby? It’s got padding on both the shoulder area and an extra thick, padded bottom buckle strap too.
The last feature that’s just for baby is a large and luxurious canopy. It comes out really far and has that little downward extension on the edge that’s so nice for blocking the sun. It also has two mesh panels on the sides, which helps with much-needed air flow during the hot months, which can reduce the risk of baby overheating. I do wish that there was a way to cover these since they aren’t as handy during the winter when they let in a chilly blast of air.

Happy Mom (or Dad!)
Mom and dad weren’t forgotten in the design. And while the parent features aren’t as fun, they are quite practical. Take for example the upper part of the stroller. The push handle is nicely padded with a soft foam, although not adjustable. There’s a parent tray that can hold two drinks and some other things, like keys or snacks. The fact that there are two drink holders is nice since baby has no storage tray of their own.
The other parental design feature is a big storage basket underneath. It’s spacious, and I mean really spacious. It doesn’t seem too much smaller than the storage basket on the regular size Bravo. And the placement of it makes it really easy to get to, even if the seat is reclined back. That’s one of my favorite parts of Chicco strollers.
One Big Consideration
The Bravo stroller is awesome because it’s got the ability to become a travel system. You can use the adapters and the KeyFit car seats to turn it into a travel system.
You can’t do this with the Mini Bravo. Let me repeat: The Chicco Mini Bravo Stroller can’t hold the KeyFit car seats. It cannot be part of a travel system.
On the regular Bravo stroller, there’s a spot where you can either attach the child snack/drink tray or the car seat adapters. On this stroller, there’s no place for either. So unless Chicco comes out with a different kind of adapter, or modifies later versions of this stroller, it won’t be an infant seat carrier.
This is really disappointing. At this price, you’d really expect it to maybe be able to be part of a travel system. It is quite a bit cheaper than the regular Bravo, but it costs much more than other lightweight strollers on the market.

Final Take
The Chicco Mini Bravo Lightweight Stroller is a brand new product that’s really promising. It took some of the best features of the regular Bravo stroller and put them on a smaller, lighter frame.
It’s got a really easy to fold frame that is truly small and light, but still able to support larger kiddos. The one-handed fold and self-stand is great, not to mention the carrying handle. It has decently large wheels with suspension and swivel, although the braking system isn’t linked.
Baby stays comfy with a reclining seat, padded safety harness, and a fantastically large, albeit drafty, canopy. Mom and Pops will be happy with the parent tray, padded and non-adjustable push handle, and big storage basket down below.
Now, I do miss the child snack tray, and I am deeply saddened by the fact that this stroller can’t support a car seat. This stroller would be practically perfect if it could tote around the KeyFit car seat. It would be the sleekest travel system on the market.
However, as is, I think it’s still a really nice lightweight stroller. It is quality made and has great features. Yes, it does cost double what some of the other lightweight strollers cost, but Chicco has proven that they know how to make a lasting, practical product that keeps parents and kids happy for years and years.
If you were looking for another carrier for your Chicco car seat, then don’t hold your breath. But if you are looking for a sturdy, yet lighter stroller that travels well and offers maximum comfort for baby and a decent amount of storage for you, then you will love the Chicco Mini Bravo Lightweight Stroller.
