UPPAbaby G-Link 2 Double Stroller Review

The Uppababy G-Link 2 Double Stroller offers a lightweight stroller for two children, and it just might change your life.

Not only is it affordable, but compact too. The stroller offers all of the necessities with style and tons of space for two children to sit side by side.

The Uppababy G-Link 2 Double Stroller is ready to wow. With room for two babies or toddlers in the seat, the G-Link 2 may be your new best friend.

Let’s take a look at all of the impressive features and find out if this is the right stroller for your needs.

Light and Narrow Frame

The Uppababy G-Link 2 is a lightweight and narrow stroller for two children. It looks like an advanced umbrella stroller and makes pushing a breeze. With an aluminum frame and carry handle, you can be sure toting this stroller into a car will be a breeze.

Another great advantage of the lightweight frame is it’s sturdy and can support up to 55 pounds per seat. As it weighs just 22.3 pounds, you know it will be easy to bring into the house or pop in the trunk.

The stroller works for babies ages three months and up who can hold their own head up. You will need another stroller for infants for the first few months, which is something to consider. Although you can always use a baby carrier while the baby is in the infancy stage, then move straight into the stroller.

Curved Handlebars

Next, the stroller includes handlebars on either side for easy pushing. The handlebars curve inwards for easier control, too. They’ve added in some foam padding for added comfort for longer walks.

The handlebars do not have a space for storage, as they are individual and do not connect in the middle. It does make it easier to carry a purse or a couple of light shopping bags right next to you instead of in reach of the children.

Big Canopy

Babies need protection from the sun and Uppababy thought of everything, with pull-down canopies on both sides and extra pop out UPF 50 plus sunshades. The G-Link 2 Stroller keeps your babies safe from the harmful rays far better than a traditional umbrella stroller but, of course, comes with a higher price.

Comfortable Seat & Safety Harness

Both seats come with tons of space for your children. They also include adjustable five-point harnesses. Moreover, you can adjust the height of the shoulder straps to three different positions to work perfectly for growing toddlers and babies.

The seats fold out for comfort and keep toddlers with long legs from getting lines on the back of their legs. Rubber footrests also make the stroller comfortable, too, so feet don’t have to hang uncomfortably.

Finally, the plush seats offer a luxurious place to sit, but what you will really love is the reclining ability. Recline both seats individually so your older child can see the world and your baby can sleep. It offers three reclining positions for easy adjustments to your child’s needs.

Double Wheels, But No Suspension

With four sets of double wheels, on-the-go has never been easier. Both of the wheels lock in the back for easy stopping and staying. However, the stroller doesn’t come with suspension, so your children will feel bumps on the road.

The main problem with the stroller is unproportionate weight may make it difficult to maneuver. They cut two sets of wheels to make the stroller lightweight, and this reduced the ease of driving. It’s best to use this stroller for similarly weighted kids like twins than for two children with major weight differences.

If you want an umbrella stroller with six wheels, you may want to consider different options. Although, many double umbrella strollers are now going to a four wheelset design. Consider using a premium double stroller if the suspension is a necessity for your family.

Minimal Storage

You get storage in three places with this fantastic stroller.

The first is pockets on the back of the canopies for essentials like your phone or wipes. These storage pockets on the back of each canopy close completely, making them useful in the rain, too.

Second, you get a  removable cup holder for your coffee cup or water bottle. It’s not much, but it’s something.

Next, you get a large easy to access basket underneath the seats. Access the back from either side of the stroller. The basket also has high mesh sides to keep items from falling out of the baskets on both the back and the sides.

Keep in mind the basket is only designed to hold ten pounds. If you add too much weight, it can weigh down the stroller and reduce maneuverability. However, you could even out the weight in the basket to compensate for weight differences in your children.

Quick and Easy Folding & Storing

Folding the stroller is a breeze. One quick action folds the stroller without much effort or even foot action! It doesn’t fold flat but does fold compactly so that you can fit it into smaller trunks. It’s lightweight, too, at just 22.3 pounds so that any adult can move it with ease, and it comes with a carry handle to make the bulk easier to maneuver.

Colors & Measurements

The stroller comes in two rather boring neutral colors, including black and gray. Jake is the black stroller with a carbon colored frame. Meanwhile, Jordan is charcoal gray with a silver frame. While neither option is super exciting, they aren’t garish either and look beautiful.

A few spots of orange add a little color and proudly display the Uppababy name. Otherwise, neither color option will stand out like a sore thumb, which is an improvement from past generations of strollers with too much design!

Enjoy the sizes, too, as the stroller comes with fabulous measurements. Folded, the stroller measures a mere 40 x 20 x 14.5 inches, and it’s ready to slide into a closet. Unfolded, the stroller measures 27.5 x 28.5 x 42 inches.

As the average door size is between 32 and 36 inches wide, this stroller will have no problem going through doors at 28.5 inches wide. Take it anywhere but you may still have problems with a narrow aisle in stores, which can be challenging.

Yes! The G-Link 2 is ready to stroll around all Disney parks. As a matter of fact, it’s a great option for all amusement parks. However, this is not the best stroller for fairgrounds as it lacks suspension.

Off-roading with this stroller won’t be fun or comfortable for you or your children. Instead, you may want to choose an all-terrain stroller. Definitely keep the G-Link 2 on level ground.

Can I take the stroller through the airport?

Yes, you can easily navigate an airport with this stroller. As it’s thin and easy to work with, you will love the sightlines and seeing both of your babies with ease. Check it at the gate, and you are good to go!

The main difference between the Joovy Groove can only old 100 pounds distributed between the two sides instead of 110. Not a huge difference, but kids grow, and extra space is needed. However, the Joovy does offer water- and stain-resistant fabric, which the G-Link 2 doesn’t even mention.

Also, the G-Link 2 has larger canopies that pull down for extra protection. However, the Joovy has pockets for children in the seat, which the G-Link 2 does not. Joovy even offers a mesh pull-up on the seat for an infant bassinet mode, which isn’t available on the Uppababy option.

Next, you get six sets of wheels on the Joovy with only four on the Uppababy. This means the Joovy may maneuver with ease. Also, the Joovy offers peek-a-boo windows on the canopies and bottle holders on the back with mom pockets, too, but the baskets are harder to reach.

Finally, the Joovy weighs about four pounds more than the Uppababy, but you can use it from birth! The Uppababy option is much thinner, though, making it easier to get into more spaces and through doors. You get a beautiful turquoise color with the Joovy, too!

The G-Link 2 Double Stroller offers important features like it’s lightweight, folds easy, and protects children from the sun.

It’s on par with the Joovy Twin Groove Stroller but with different features that may be more important to some families.

Definitely check out both, but we prefer the Uppababy even though it doesn’t work from birth because of the added sun protection and lightweight design ready to go anywhere.
