A stroller fan is a simple and effective solution for keeping your little one cool on strolls. Whether you’re running errands or strolling around Disney, strap a fan onto your stroller to keep your baby cool in sky-high temperatures. We’ve rounded up the best stroller fans so you’re guaranteed to choose a winner.
Best Stroller Fans
Every one of these stroller fans includes a rechargeable battery. The WiHoo Stroller Fan is said to last much longer (6-15 hrs) than the other stroller fans listed below. The Amacool Fan comes in second with a longevity of 2.5-10 hrs.
WiHoo Mini Handheld Stroller Fan
The WiHoo Mini Handheld Stroller Fan is a whimsical stroller fan your baby will love to stare at!
First and foremost – this is an octopus, right? I knew it! This tentacled little fan will give you big nautical vibes, thanks to its uncanny similarity to the eight-legged sea creature.
Marine biology aside, those twistable legs are the crowning feature. The silicone-coated tentacles have been updated to be even more durable than before. Plus, that silicone makes it easy to clean!
I love the aqua blue color combined with the neon green blades. Your baby will also be fascinated watching the brightly colored blades spin. If you aren’t feeling the bright blue, there are three different options: black with blue blades, pink with purple blades, and white with neon green blades.
Inside the fan is a 2600mA rechargeable battery. When fully charged, it can keep a charge for 3 to 8 hours. Unfortunately, to fully charge, the battery needs to be plugged in for 3.5 hours, making it one of the slowest to charge on this whole list.
While no customers have reported any incidents, a few did note that the grid openings on the back of the fan were much larger than the ones on the front. This leads to concerns of little fingers making their way through the back of the fan to touch the blades.
PROS
- Fun design
- Twistable legs
CONS
- Long charging time
SkyGenius Battery Operated Clip-On Fan
The SkyGenius Battery Operated Clip-on Fan is a smart way to keep things cool.
We’re starting our list strong with a genius. A SkyGenius, to be specific! While the company sells several fans, this battery-operated clip-on fan is the brand’s best-seller and it’s not hard to see why.
The strong clip opens up to 2.5 inches so you can attach it just about anywhere. The clamp is also equipped with a non-slip mat, so you can rest easy knowing it will stay put.
No matter where you clip this fan, you’ll get a breeze where you need it, thanks to the 360-degree vertical and horizontal rotations.
This fan is seen but not heard, thanks to its silent design. Silent doesn’t mean weak, though, as this fan’s step-less speed settings allow the fan to reach a maximum speed of 10.5 feet per second!
At its highest speed, you can expect 2.5 hours of use. Meanwhile, at the lowest setting (which is more than enough!), you can get 6 hours of power before needing a charge!
As you charge, a red indicator light on the back of the fan will be lit. Once it’s fully charged, the light will turn off. It does take 4.5 hours to charge, which is lengthy, but you can still use the fan while it is plugged in.
PROS
- Strong wind
- Sturdy and wide clip
CONS
- Long charging time
BRIGENIUS Battery Operated Clip-On Stroller Fan
The BRIGENIUS Battery Operated Clip-on Stroller Fan is a genius choice for a stroller fan!
This mighty little fan checks all the boxes of what you’re looking for in a stroller fan. First, it is compact, weighing only 9 ounces! As it is less than a pound, it’s incredibly portable, making it easy to transition. This stroller fan can easily be a desk fan, a treadmill fan, or a camping fan!
The BRIGENIUS fan attaches to any regular or travel stroller easily with its strong clip, but it also has a flat bottom for placing on a desk or similar surface. Its non-slip design keeps this fan right where you want it.
This fan has three adjustable speeds, making it ideal for quick switches. You won’t hear a peep out of it at any speed, however, since this quiet fan operates at less than 40 dB.
A powerful 18650 lithium battery operates this stroller fan. The battery life lasts anywhere from 2.5 to 6 hours, depending on speed settings. The battery needs an hour and a half to charge.
You’ll receive a USB cable with this fan, meaning you can charge it in any device with a USB outlet, including laptops, car chargers, and power banks.
PROS
- Powerful speed settings
- Flat bottom
- Long-lasting battery
CONS
- Long charging time
Amacool Battery Operated Stroller Fan
The Amacool Flexible Tripod Clip-On Stroller Fan is a versatile stroller fan option.
Flexible legs like the ones on this stroller fan are so helpful. Since all strollers are different, these bendable legs give the option to attach this fan wherever is available instead of depending on a clip.
Likewise, the Amacool stroller fan may look cute, but what also sets it apart is its night light. The included LED light has three different brightness settings so you can find the ideal light. This light can help your baby feel more secure on darker evening walks. Even better, you can utilize the light as a reading light or as a lantern alternative while camped out in a tent!
This twisty little fan features three speeds: soft wind, natural wind, and strong wind. At any speed, it keeps its whisper-quiet noise level. Customers who use this fan in bed at night forget it’s running because it’s so quiet!
Depending on what speed settings you use, this fan’s battery will last 2.5 to 10 hours. Still, the manufacturer’s description specifically recommends users bring along a backup power bank to any major day trips, such as Disney World.
As a fan (hah!) of the color pink, I’m slightly disappointed that the pink option costs a few dollars more, but I’ll let it slide this time.
PROS
- Comes in fun colors
- LED light with 3 brightness levels
- Flexible tripod legs
CONS
- Short battery life

MCGMITT Battery-Operated Stroller Fan
The MCGMITT Battery-Operated Stroller Fan is quiet, flexible, and powerful!
If a tripod fan isn’t your style, this flexible hose fan may be for you. It combines the best aspects of an octopus-style fan and a clip-on fan. It’s grounded with a strong clip but instead of a twistable tripod, it has a long flexible hose.
Yes, instead of an octopus, this fan is more of a snake, if you will. It’s a single hose bracket that offers 360-degrees of bending so you can direct the wind to your baby, no matter where on the stroller you clip the fan.
When it comes to the clip, you can feel secure in this fan’s hold. The clip itself opens up to 1.6 inches to attach to most surfaces. The interior of the clip is lined with non-slip sponge pads so you won’t have to deal with a slipping and sliding fan during your walk.
This fan is easy to control, considering it’s controlled by just one button. With that one button, you can adjust between three different speed settings. Customers rave that even the lowest speed is enough on a hot day.
The grill of the fan is made specifically with babies in mind. The gaps are less than 0.2 inches, making it impossible for little fingers to get to the blades. Plus, that grill is removable, making cleaning this fan beyond easy.
This battery runs off a single 200 mAh battery and creates a sound below 55 decibels, even at the fastest setting. At the highest speed setting, you can expect to get around 3 hours of use from the battery. If you use the lowest setting instead, you’ll enjoy up to 10 hours of air circulation.
The battery only takes around 3 hours to fully charge. This battery is non-removable, meaning you won’t be able to replace it for any reason. If you encounter any battery issues, you’d have to replace the entire fan.
PROS
- Fast charging time
- Easy-to-clean
CONS
- Non-removable battery
COMLIFE Portable Handheld Fan
The COMLIFE Portable Handheld Fan is a fan you can take anywhere!
This stroller fan has received an upgraded design this year. Now, the legs are more flexible than ever, allowing for a complete 360-rotation. Wherever your baby is, this fan can turn to accommodate them. Also, each of the legs is removable and easy to reassemble if need be.
Beyond upgraded flexibility, this fan provides four-speed settings. Speed 1 is a relaxed 2400 RPM, while Speed 4 is a powerful 4000 RPM! This fan won’t forget you either – it has a memory function that remembers which speed was running when it was turned off.
This fan runs on a 2600mAh battery. Your preferred speed will determine the battery’s lifespan. When only Speed 1 is utilized, you can expect 7-8 hours of power. On the other hand, if you blast the highest setting, Speed 4, you’ll only experience 2 hours of battery life before needing to recharge.
The battery will take 3 hours to recharge, which is slow compared to most fans. However, this fan will still run while charging, so if you have a power bank or a computer nearby, you’re set to go.
I like the versatility of a fan like this. When outdoor temperatures dip down, indoor temperatures tend to rise. If you’re working out or just working at a desk, you might find yourself looking for air movement.
This powerful fan is flexible enough to go anywhere. If you pull the legs out straight into a handle, the fan becomes a handheld. You can twist the fan’s legs around the handle of a treadmill. My favorite use is at a desk, standing upright because the legs can be used as a smartphone holder.
PROS
- Upgraded flexibility
- Four-speed settings
- Versatile
CONS
- Long charging time
Snawowo Mini Handheld Personal Portable Fan
The Snawowo Mini Handheld Personal Portable Fan is an easy-to-clean addition to your stroller!
2020 was a big year for stroller fans, as this little number also received an upgrade this year. The previous model had plastic tripod legs, while this new version has been strengthened with high-quality metal and a silicone exterior.
We all know what silicone means; silicone is waterproof and so easy to clean. So, even if your kid splatters their snack all around the stroller, you’ll get this fan cleaned quickly, no problem.
The brushless motor has three different speed settings that are operated by a single button. The motor isn’t just speedy – it’s quiet too. The sound of this fan is under 57 decibels, meaning you get a powerful wind with no noise.
This fan runs on a 2600mAh built-in rechargeable Li-ion battery. Depending on your speed preference, the battery will run for 2 to 8 hours. When the battery needs some juice, you can expect to have the fan plugged in for 3 and a half hours for a full recharge.
There is some warning, however. This fan won’t leave you without a heads up, thanks to the LED indicator light found on the back of the fan. The indicator light will blink red rapidly when the battery is dying.
PROS
- Twistable legs
- Easy to clean
- Battery indicator light
CONS
- Long charging time
BLUBOON Clip-On Fan
The BLUBOON Clip-on Fan is a fan with a strong clip that won’t slip!
This is a clip-on fan that will stay put! Did you spend good money on a jogging stroller, but your baby is getting too warm on jogs? Don’t let that stroller go to waste – clip this sturdy fan on and keep on jogging. It will stay with you.
This fan does not promise a quiet experience though. While it is not loud by any means, it certainly is audible. Honestly, I’ve never found the sound of a fan to be a problem. Consider this fan your own portable white noise machine for on-the-go baby naps!
If portability is what you’re after, then you came to the right place. This tiny fan is only 5 inches tall and weighs a mere 13 ounces!
Those 5 inches are more than enough to make a powerful fan though. One customer even claimed their baby slept through a jog in 91-degree weather without ever breaking a sweat! Others were surprised at how much power such a little product held.
For that powerful wind, you will be utilizing a 2200mAh lithium battery. Of course, it is rechargeable. The battery lasts 2 to 6 hours but takes four hours to charge, which may just be too long for some needs.
You can run this fan without the batteries though! As long as the fan is connected to a power source via USB cable, the fan will still blow a soothing breeze.
The BLUBOON clip-on fan is the most expensive fan on this list. This isn’t necessarily a negative. A higher price often fetches a higher quality and this fan is robust and fast!
PROS
- Sturdy clip
- Powerful wind
CONS
- Produces audible sound
- Long charging time
Dreambaby Stroller Fan
The Dreambaby Stroller Fan is a cute and lightweight stroller fan!
In a sea of bland stroller fans, this Dreambaby number stands out because it is so darn cute. Plus, it’s so lightweight. This fan only weighs 0.01 pounds – it’s practically air!
Due to its small size, you can carry it in your diaper bag or purse hassle-free. Since it’s easy to transport, you don’t have to have it clipped onto your stroller at all times. You’ll appreciate this when you’re trying to fold up that stroller with the fan on.
It doesn’t have a grid or cage around the blades because these things are safer than safe. The three blades are made of super-soft foam and if little fingers try to touch, it will be painless and the blades will be stopped.
Sometimes a clip-on fan can be limiting because you need a certain surface to attach it to. Never fear though, because the Dreambaby’s fan has a flexible neck that can be turned to whatever direction your baby needs.
Unfortunately, this fan does not have a rechargeable battery. It does require two AA batteries, which are not included. Likewise, the fan does not have adjustable speeds, so you will have to settle for the one setting.
You aren’t stuck with the sweet pink color, by the way. This fan comes in 7 different styles, including the colors orange, purple, and black. I especially like the trippy striped version because it’s fun to watch as it spins.
PROS
- Cute flower look
- Soft foam blades
- Lightweight
CONS
- Non-rechargeable batteries; needs 2 AA batteries
- One speed
HJIAN 5-inch Clip Fan
The HJIAN 5-inch Clip Fan is strong wind-packed into a tiny clip-on stroller fan!
Don’t be fooled by 5 inches – this fan is surprisingly large. Its multiple speed settings produce strong wind that will keep your baby from sweating in his or her stroller. If you need to direct some wind elsewhere, this fan has a 360-degree rotation, both vertically and horizontally!
Above you can see this fan in the color black, but that isn’t the only color it comes in. You can buy this fan in bright blue or pink as well, so there’s one for every personality out there!
The battery included in this fan is a 2200mah rechargeable lithium battery. The seller points out that the battery will last around 2 hours when the fan is used at the highest speed. For a quick jog, that’s more than enough time. However, if you’re planning anything like a Disney World trip, you should bring along a USB-compatible power bank.
This fan will work while charging and plugged in with a USB cable. While charging, the fan will only use one speed instead of multiple. Though it can be used while plugged in, the manufacturer recommends not using the fan during its initial charge to ensure the health of the battery.
PROS
- Strong clip
- Powerful wind
CONS
- Short battery life
Diono Stroller Fan
The Diono Stroller Fan is a surprisingly strong little fan.
If the name Diono rings some bells, the company is known for its car seats, but they also produce baby wraps and strollers. To accompany their strollers, they even branched out and manufactured a stroller fan.
Diono has made a name for itself and people recognize that name to indicate high quality. In that vein, this a robust stroller fan that gets the job done. The clip is strong and stays on, even if you hit some rougher terrain.
This fan is also user-friendly, thanks to the easy-to-see controls found on the side of the fan. Even better, the three control buttons are found behind the blade’s cage, so your little one won’t be able to fiddle with the controls as you stroll.
Now, this fan doesn’t use a rechargeable battery and it does require 2 AA batteries, not included. Alkaline batteries should give you about 5 hours of power with this fan. It only has a single-speed setting, so battery life is relatively consistent.
Oh, and if you need a fan in two places (i.e. stroller and car seat), you can purchase these fans in a handy two-pack!
PROS
- Robust clip
- Flexible neck
CONS
- Non-rechargeable batteries; needs 2 AA batteries
- One speed
Andrti Tripod Clip Stroller Fan
The Andrti Tripod Clip Stroller Fan is adjustable, ready to suit your needs!
You’ll enjoy the step-less wind speed regulation on this fan. Instead of pressing a button to select a particular speed, there’s a dial you turn to adjust the wind as little or as much as you wish. Without the limitations of set speeds, you can find your Goldilocks speed – you know, the one that is just right.
If you have any intentions of using this at a desk or similar with the fan plugged in, this fan is for you. Most of these portable fans include tiny USB cables. It’s understandable since these fans are supposed to be portable, after all.
What about that battery though? It includes a built in lithium battery. Depending on what speed you prefer, the battery’s charge will last 2 to 10 hours. The lowest speed will give you that sweet 6-hour use and it’s more than adequate. Customers found the lowest speed put out enough that they didn’t need the higher speeds!
It has concealed blades which will protect baby’s little fingers.
PROS
- Multiple speeds
- Concealed fan blades
- Built in lithium battery
CONS
- Takes 3.5 hours to fully recharge battery
LiyuanQ USB Rechargeable Portable Fan
The LiyuanQ USB Rechargable Portable Fan is an affordable and versatile portable fan.
This clever little fan can go just about anywhere. Thanks to its posable handle, this fan from LiyuanQ can be wound around backpack straps, stroller trays, and even worn around the neck for hands-free airflow.
Once wrapped around a secure place, this fan can go multi-directional. The fan head has 360-degree rotation. No matter the direction, the wind will be powerful, thanks to this fan’s seven blades.
Inside the fan is a 1500 mAh rechargeable battery. At the high speed, this battery’s life tops out at 2.5 hours. On the other hand, if you go with the lowest speed, you can use this fan for up to 6 hours. You can expect a full battery charge in 3 to 4 hours.
If you get a chance to run errands or take a jog without your baby, you can nab this fan for yourself and wear it on your neck, hands-free. Isn’t this what luxury is? Of course, as a mom, all alone time is a luxury!
PROS
- Posable handle
- Affordable
CONS
- Shorter battery life
Best Stroller Fans for Disney
Both the COMLIFE and Viniper fans are built with a 5000mAh rechargeable battery, making them much longer-lasting than the Moomet and Cool on the Go.
Viniper Rechargeable Clip-on Fan
The Viniper Rechargeable Clip-on Fan is a warranty-protected stroller fan with amazing battery life!
We have another newly upgraded fan! For 2020, Viniper upgraded a few features of this fan. The battery, the clip, and the blade housing structure all got makeovers.
The updated 5000mAh battery can give up to 30 hours of power. Specifically, the fan can last 30 hours on the lowest setting, 12 on the medium setting, and 9 hours on the high setting.
The low setting might be all you need, though. Thanks to a larger blade design, the low setting is unexpectedly strong. It provides more than enough airflow for an outdoor stroll.
With fans like this, broken tripod legs can be a common issue. This can make some customers wary of picking a tripod portable fan. If this concerns you, this fan has you covered with a 12-month warranty.
A warranty? Oh yes! If your tripod would experience any manufacturer defects within the first year, you can contact Viniper and they will replace the tripod, free of charge. Who doesn’t like that kind of security?
The upgrades and warranty come at a price, as you can imagine. While this fan is still reasonably priced, it’s more expensive than most of the entries on this list. Thanks to that warranty though, you’ll be guaranteed to get your money’s worth out of this fan.
PROS
- Includes a warranty
- Long battery life
- Affordable
CONS
- None!
Moomet Mini Portable Stroller Fan
The Moomet Mini Portable Stroller Fan is a stroller fan and nightlight combo!
Instead of the typical tripod, this stroller fan has a monopod. The patented design of this fan allows it the flexibility to attach just about anywhere. The monopod is encased in child-safe silicone and ends with a cute little cat face!
This handy little fan will keep your little one cool in their stroller, thanks to the sealed rechargeable battery. The battery can last 4-12 hours, depending on your preferred speed setting. There are four settings: low, medium, high, and natural wind.
While not on a stroll, you can attach the Moomet fan to your child’s crib or bed. Not only will it keep your child cool, but the fan also has a nightlight setting. There are three different brightness levels, all still dim enough to provide a comfortable sleep environment. You can set an automatic timer to turn off the light after one hour.
As the company stands behind its products, this fan comes with a one-year warranty and a 30-day return policy.
PROS
- Silicone monopod
- Includes nightlight setting
CONS
- One-button control can make choosing a particular setting complicated
Cool On The Go! Clip-On Fan with LED Lights
The Cool On The Go! Clip-On Fan with LED Lights is a unique portable and stroller fan!
While this stroller fan looks quite different than the rest, it offers the same comfy strolling experience for your child. This is a clip-on fan, so it clamps onto the stroller canopy or similar.
The Cool On The Go! fan is more than just a standout name. You can experience continuous airflow from this bladeless portable fan. Yes, it is bladeless!
Along with wind, this fan outputs colored LED lights. During a stroll through a theme park or elsewhere, the lights come in handy when it gets dark but your baby could use a bit of light!
I love how versatile this product is. When you don’t have it attached to a stroller, the possibilities are endless. It can be used as a desk fan or even clipped to your belt for easy airflow. The fan comes with a neck lanyard that allows you to wear the fan around your neck so you have that cool air aimed near your face where you need it!
To run this fan, you’ll need 4 AA alkaline or rechargeable batteries. At the highest speed, the batteries will last around 5 hours, but you can get up to 12 hours on the lowest setting.
PROS
- Bladeless fan
- Long battery life
- Versatile uses
CONS
- Non-rechargeable batteries; needs 4 AA batteries
- Pricey
COMLIFE F170 Clip-On Stroller Fan
The COMLIFE F170 Clip-On Stroller Fan is a fragrant fan!
Just a few entries ago, we discussed COMLIFE’s twistable octopus-style stroller fan. Meanwhile, this is the brand’s clip-on offering, if that is your preference!
Are you oily? Don’t worry, I’m not questioning your face washing habits. Passionate essential oil users affectionately nickname themselves “oily” and, if you’re one of them, you need this little fan.
Oh, yes, this fan has an aroma diffuser function! On the back of the fan, you’ll find a little spongey area. Here, you can apply your favorite essential oil and enjoy a sweet-scented breeze!
The diffuser can be more than just a nice additional feature. If you use a mosquito-repelling scent, you can help protect your little one from itchy bug bites during your afternoon walk! In case you’re curious, lemon eucalyptus and lavender are known to repel the bloodsuckers.
This fan also oscillates! To keep the wind pleasant and not annoying, this fan features 90 degrees of auto oscillation. Likewise, this little fan rotates 360 degrees in both vertical and horizontal directions.
All of this is powered by built-in 5000 mAh rechargeable lithium batteries. Depending on your chosen speed, the battery can last anywhere from 6 to a whopping 40 hours! The long battery life comes at a price though – charge time takes 3 to 4 hours. Yikes!
PROS
- Long battery life
- 90-degree oscillation
- Aromatherapy function
CONS
- Long charging time

Buying Criteria for Stroller Fans
Battery
The last thing you need on a hot day is your stroller fan’s battery dying. Stroller fans either run on rechargeable batteries or require non-rechargeable alkaline batteries. Both have different advantages and disadvantages that could break or make the decision of which to go with.
For example, rechargeable batteries can be charged on the run. A USB plugged into the car or a power bank can charge a battery like that.
Contrastly, disposable batteries tend to last longer than rechargeable lithium batteries. With longer battery life, the fan could last your entire day without changing batteries.
On the other hand, what if the batteries do die during your stroller cruise? You’ll have to find yourself a gift shop or convenience store to replace your alkaline batteries.
Then, what if you’re in the middle of an amusement park and don’t have access to your car or a power bank? With rechargeable batteries, it’s best to plan ahead, since you can’t easily purchase a replacement battery.
Flexibility
For the sake of this article, flexibility refers to the malleability of the octopus-style fans and the scope of rotation for clip-on fans.
With a clip-on fan, for most situations, the best option is one with a 360-degree rotation. This hopefully applies to both vertical and horizontal rotation. The 360-degree turning radius allows you to direct the wind right where you need it to be. Without the ability to rotate, you’ll be in a world of frustration.
Likewise, flexibility pertains to stroller fans with twistable tripod legs. Of course, you need a fan with easy-to-manipulate legs so it can be secured to anything. Also, you need that 360-degree turning radius as well to be sure the wind hits the right spot.
Speed Settings
Sometimes, you need some more speed! On the fan, that is. If the heat is unrelenting, you’ll need to kick the speed of your stroller fan up to make sure your little one stays cool. Having multiple speed settings makes it easy to accommodate different temperatures.
Contrastly, one fast consistent speed may be better for you so you won’t have to find yourself fiddling with the fan while you’re running errands. This boils down to personal preference.
Noise
There isn’t much worse than a baby woken prematurely from a nap. If your baby dozes off in the stroller, you’ll want to be sure the stroller fan you chose isn’t noisy enough to disrupt any sleep.
The only exception to this rule is if your baby is a fan of white noise. As many adults can attest to, the sound of a fan can be soothing to fall asleep too. In this case, a nosier fan may help you out. In the list above, we are sure to point out the noise factor of each of the fans.
Since stroller fans are versatile and can be used in many different scenarios, noise can also be a factor in one of those other situations. For example, if you’re working from home and decide to borrow the fan for a Zoom meeting, you’ll need something near-silent. Trust me, I’ve been there and a loud fan can be distracting.
Price
Isn’t this a buying criterion for any product we comparison shop for? As a discerning shopper, you’re looking for the best quality at the best price. Sure, you’re willing to pay a bit more for a high-quality product, but in the end, we all want to save some money where we can.
On this list, we attempted to narrow it down to the most affordable options. For those fans on the pricier end, they are included because they are worth the extra bucks.
FAQs – Stroller Fans
Are stroller fans safe for infants?
Yes! If you’re fighting images in your mind of little fingers meeting fan blades, relax! Stroller fans are designed to be placed on strollers, so they are designed with infants and children in mind.
A true stroller fan will be manufactured with a tight grid cage on the fan. The grid should be too small to allow even the tiniest of fingers through. For fans without a grid, like the Dreambaby stroller fan featured above, the “blades” of the fan are made from foam.
How should I use a stroller fan?
We’ll go over some quick basics. First, find a safe place to attach the fan to your stroller. Since all strollers are different, you might have to do a bit of trial and error. You need to ensure that the fan is secured and can’t fall on or otherwise injure your child.
If you’re using a travel system with a click-in infant carrier, stroller fans can usually be clipped or twisted onto the upright handle of the car seat. Likewise, you can similarly attach the fan to a child’s snack tray or bumper bar. If your stroller’s canopy can handle it, the fan can also be attached there.
Second, try to position it so that the fan is around one foot away from your baby’s face. This is mostly about comfort; no one wants a fan right on their face! Also, this helps prevent them from trying to slip their fingers in the fan’s cage.
Third, and last, be prepared. If your excursion is going to be a long one, bring a power bank or extra batteries so you won’t be out of luck with a dead battery.
Most stroller fans tend to be charged via a USB cable. Can I use any USB cable?
Yes! In my research, I found most stroller fans (and portable fans in general) charge with a USB cable, just like the one you use to charge your smartphone.
For convenience, stroller fans usually come with their own micro USB cable, but these tend to be short in length. If you’ve ever charged your phone with a short cable, you know how frustrating it can be. And USB cables can come as short as 0.5 inches long!
If you’d prefer to use one of your existing USB cables instead of the one included with your fan, that is perfectly okay. Both cables can charge the fan.
Where are stroller fans a must?
Stroller fans can make any walk more comfortable and cool and should be on most mother’s registry lists. Specifically, though, you will need a stroller fan if your family frequents amusement parks, like Disney World.
For theme parks, the busiest season is during the brutal heat of summer and shade is hard to come by. Without a stroller fan, your infant will likely get too warm and you’ll have a cranky fussy baby on your hands in the happiest place on earth.
If you’re planning a trip to an amusement park or the like, get a stroller fan and thank me later.
How else can I keep my child cool in a stroller?
Once you have the stroller fan, you can easily create a DIY mister for your little one. For your next trip to Disney World or any other all-day excursion, also pack a small spray bottle filled with water.
Throughout the day, periodically spray the water into the back of the fan. This will create a cooling and comforting mist for your child. You can also go ahead and spray yourself a few times, because, after all, you’re the one walking!
You can also try a cooling towel if your child is open to the idea.
Can I take a stroller fan on a plane?
Yes, you can. Airplanes can get stuffy! If you’re be taking your bundle of joy onto an airplane, you can bring your stroller fan to use on the plane.
You may be skeptical. After all, most things aren’t allowed to be carried on a plane, so why would a fan be allowed?
According to the TSA, portable electric fans can be placed in carry-on or checked bags. The only stipulation is that the fan can fit under the seat or in the overhead bin, neither of which is an issue for small stroller fans.
For the best results while in the air, clip the fan to your child’s car seat or the back of the seat in front of you. If it’s a tripod fan, attach the fan to the child’s car seat.
