It lessens the absorbency of the diapers but we were changing him so often to try and help that it didn’t matter at all. The trick is to try and keep the rash creme on baby’s bum instead of the friction of the diaper. So, coat the diaper (instead of bum) with a light layer of aquaphor, then put the diaper creme with zinc on the bum. I couldn’t believe the difference. The aquaphor negates the diaper friction which allowed the paste to stay in place. The difference in 12 hours was amazing. Aquaphor alone did NOT work for us.
