Joana Dutcher, whose life’s mission is to educate children, is back in school herself in the hopes of reaching more students’ lives.
Joana is pursuing a Masters in Special Education with a concentration in children with autism. She already has a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology, a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music. She has been an elementary school teacher for more than 20 years.
Joana started her teaching career by working with at-risk middle school students. She continues to volunteer in the homes of at-risk youth to help them stay in school.
Initially studying music, Joana shifted career paths when she learned in college that she struggled with dyslexia and ADHD. She grew up having difficulty reading and decided to change course to help students. She continues to love music and often sings at local venues and is teaching herself piano and acoustic guitar in her spare time.
Joana instilled the importance of education and hard work in her children, ages 10 and 17. Her family lives in North Eastern Pennsylvania.
