Debbie Barker is an editor at Experienced Mommy since 2021. Experienced Mommy has been a great partnership with both her love of writing and editing and her desire to help fellow moms and grandmas.
After giving birth to her first child 30 years ago, complications from labor and delivery left Debbie a paraplegic. Debbie continued to grow her family by adopting a 3-year-old child from Romania and then giving birth to their 3rd child as a paraplegic.
Debbie shares her story to others through blogging and speaking as an encouragement to continue persevering despite trials but also loves to offer motivation and laughs to young moms.
Debbie has a BS In Writing with a Journalism emphasis from Geneva College as well as minors in English and Public Speaking. After graduation, she wrote for several newspapers before becoming an Editor for Christar, a missions organization. She took time off to raise children and worked as a substitute teacher before joining Experienced Mommy.
Debbie has been married to her husband, Steve, for 32 years and they enjoy spending time with their 3 married children and 2, soon to be 3, grandbabies. They reside in eastern PA.
